Model Y battery module structure;
(1) Model Y Battery Module
①There are four modules in Model Y. The structure of the modules is shown in the figure below.
② There are 96 "Bricks" in the four modules. One Brick contains 46 cells. The cells on each Brick are connected in parallel with each other through a collector and a fuse; the Brick and Brick in the module pass through the positive and negative poles of the batteries are inverted and connected in series.
And Model Y's BMS can control each cell, even if some of the cells do not work, it will not affect the overall battery.

The connection method of the corrugated pipe eliminates the elbow from the module cooling pipeline; the editor thinks it is a reduction. The reliability of the previously designed pipeline after assembly is much higher than the current design (the previous interface pipeline is Z direction, after removing the elbow, it is Y direction), and the cooling pipeline inside the battery box can be easily rotated. It is only fixed with the clamps on both sides, which I personally think is not very reliable;
The connection between the cooling fins eliminates the corrugation of the connecting pipe and reduces the cost;
Model Y sealant is covered with cooling fins;
The Model 3 battery controller used on Model Y, but the structure looks a bit different, and the specific reasons have to be checked.
